Form I-907: Request for Premium Processing Service
TITLE: Form I-907: Request for Premium Processing Service
WHAT IT IS:
Form I-907 is a request asking USCIS to decide your eligible immigration application or petition faster than the usual processing time. If your request is accepted, USCIS will process your case within a guaranteed, much quicker timeframe. You must pay an extra fee for this premium processing service.
WHO NEEDS IT:
You can use Form I-907 if you have (or are filing) one of these forms and your category is eligible for premium processing:
- Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker;
- Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Workers;
- Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization (currently only for F-1 students applying for OPT or a STEM OPT extension);
- Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status, but only when you are changing to F-1, M-1, or J-1 status (and their dependents F-2, M-2, J-2).
Not every category of these forms qualifies. Always check the “How Do I Request Premium Processing?” page on the USCIS website to confirm your case is eligible before you submit Form I-907.
HOW TO FILE:
Follow these steps carefully to avoid rejection.
1. Check eligibility. Go to the “How Do I Request Premium Processing?” page and verify that your exact form category is currently accepted for premium processing.
2. Get the correct form edition. The current edition date is 04/01/24 (you will see it at the bottom of every page). Download the form only from uscis.gov. Do not mix pages from different editions—your form may be rejected.
3. Decide how to file: online or by mail.
- Online: Create a USCIS online account (or log in if you have one). Visit the “Forms Available to File Online” page to see when you or your representative can file Form I-907 online.
- By mail (paper): The mailing address depends on which form you want processed faster:
- For Form I-129 → Find the address on the Form I-129 page.
- For Form I-140 → Find the address on the Form I-140 page.
- For Form I-765 (F-1 OPT/STEM OPT) or Form I-539 (change to F-1, M-1, J-1) → Use the “Direct Filing Addresses for Filing Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing, For Form I-765 or Form I-539” page.
4. Complete all required fields. Pay special attention to these rules:
- If you are an individual (no company name) and leave Part 1, Item 4 (Company Name) empty, you must fill in:
- For Form I-765 requests:
Part 1, Item 3 (your last and first name); AND
Part 2, Item 4 (the applicant’s last and first name).
- For Form I-129 or I-140 requests:
Part 1, Item 3 (your last and first name);
Part 2, Item 4 (the petitioner/applicant’s last and first name); AND
Part 2, Item 5 (the beneficiary’s last and first name).
- Do not write “N/A” or “none” in these fields—your form will be rejected.
5. Sign the form. USCIS will reject any unsigned Form I-907.
6. Pay the correct fee. Include the filing fee (see FEES below).
7. Submit only one Form I-907 per eligible case. Do not attach unrelated Form I-907 requests to your package.
FEES:
The exact filing fee for Form I-907 is not listed on this page. Check the official USCIS Fee Schedule page for the current amount. No fee waiver is mentioned in the source text.
CURRENT EDITION & DEADLINES:
The form edition date given on this page is 04/01/24 (mm/dd/yy). You must use that edition or a later one if USCIS updates it. Always look for the edition date at the bottom of the form pages. There is no specific filing deadline for Form I-907, but you can only request premium processing while your underlying case is pending or when you first file it (concurrent filing), if allowed. Confirm on the “How Do I Request Premium Processing?” page.
COMMON MISTAKES:
- Using an old form edition. Make sure all pages are from the same edition (look at the bottom of each page). Mixing pages from different editions can cause rejection.
- Forgetting to sign the form. An unsigned form will be sent back.
- Leaving name fields blank when “Company Name” is empty. If you are not a company, fill in the required name fields (see step 4 above). Never write “N/A” or “none” there.
- Mailing to the wrong address. Check the correct address based on the underlying form you want processed.
WHERE TO GET THE FORM:
Download the most recent version directly from the official USCIS website: [https://www.uscis.gov/i-907](https://www.uscis.gov/i-907). Do not use copies from other websites.
