TITLE: Texas Border Barrier Project Area Corrected

WHAT HAPPENED: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) decided to waive (not follow) some legal rules to build barriers and roads faster along the Texas–Mexico border. The original notice from May 15, 2026 had a wrong description of the project area. This document republishes the notice with the correct project area.

WHO IT AFFECTS: Immigrants and other people who live, work, own land, or travel near the Texas border where the barriers and roads will be built.

WHAT TO DO NOW:

- Check the corrected project area description in the official notice if you are concerned about your location.

- Know that this determination became effective on June 9, 2026.

- No immediate individual action is required by this notice.

- If you own property in the area, consider speaking with a lawyer about your rights.
