WHAT HAPPENED: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) lifted the ban that stopped all direct commercial flights between the U.S. and Venezuela. The ban began on May 15, 2019. As of April 17, 2026, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) canceled that old order.

WHO IT AFFECTS: Anyone who wants to fly directly between the United States and Venezuela — including immigrants from Venezuela and their families.
